Trump to Visit Jerusalem Following Historic Israel-Hamas Ceasefire and Hostage Release Agreement

US President Donald Trump is scheduled to arrive in Jerusalem on Sunday following his announcement of a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas that includes the release of hostages.

During this significant diplomatic visit, President Trump may address the Knesset as part of his engagements in Israel.

The office of Israeli President Isaac Herzog confirmed the expected visit in a statement released Thursday. They announced the cancellation of a previously scheduled event at the president's residence in Jerusalem "in light of the expected release of the hostages, and the upcoming visit of President of the United States Donald J Trump to Israel."

Herzog's office further explained that "the decision was made due to anticipated security closures in Jerusalem surrounding the visit and the historic developments unfolding in the coming days."

This high-profile presidential visit comes at a crucial moment in Middle East peace negotiations, coinciding with the implementation of the Gaza truce agreement.
