Lindy Cameron: British High Commissioner's Journey From Cyber Security to India Relations at NDTV World Summit 2025

Lindy Cameron, with extensive experience spanning over two decades in international development, will be participating in the NDTV World Summit 2025.

The British High Commissioner to India, Lindy Cameron, is confirmed to attend the prestigious NDTV World Summit scheduled for October 17. This two-day gathering at New Delhi's Bharat Mandapam will unite prominent figures from diverse sectors including politics, science, technology, and business to engage in meaningful discussions centered on global innovation and collaborative initiatives.

Since April 2024, Lindy Cameron has been serving as the British High Commissioner to India. In this significant diplomatic position, she functions as the UK government's representative, dedicated to enhancing diplomatic relations, economic partnerships, and cultural connections between the United Kingdom and India.

Prior to her current appointment, Cameron held the position of CEO at the UK's National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC). During her leadership, she managed the center's response to numerous cyber incidents, strengthened security measures for critical national infrastructure, and directed important initiatives related to emerging technologies and cybersecurity throughout the COVID-19 pandemic period.

Cameron brings invaluable experience in international development, national security, and crisis management accumulated over more than twenty years. Her distinguished career includes senior positions within the Department for International Development (DFID) and the Northern Ireland Office.

Her professional journey has taken her to various global locations including Nigeria, Vietnam, the Balkans, Iraq, and Afghanistan. Additionally, she has led DFID's humanitarian and conflict policies for the Middle East region and has worked within the Cabinet Office, Foreign Office, and Ministry of Defence.

Originating from Northern Ireland, Cameron began her professional career in the private sector before joining DFID in 1998. Her educational background includes a BA in Modern History from Oxford University, a Masters in Law and Diplomacy from the Fletcher School at Tufts University, and studies at the UK Defence Academy. She is also recognized as a Policy Leaders Fellow Alumna at the Centre for Science and Policy.
