'Hope It Leads To End Of War': Saudi Arabia, Jordan Welcome Gaza Truce Deal

Saudi Arabia has officially expressed its welcome for the ceasefire agreement reached between Israel and Hamas regarding Gaza. The Kingdom stated on Thursday that it hopes this diplomatic breakthrough will pave the way to ending the two-year conflict that has caused widespread devastation.

According to a statement released by the Saudi foreign ministry, the nation views this as "an important step" that should "lead to urgent action to alleviate the humanitarian suffering" in the region. Saudi Arabia further emphasized its desire to see "a full Israeli withdrawal, restore security and stability, and initiate practical steps to achieve a just and comprehensive peace based on the two-state solution."

Similarly, Jordan, which shares a border with Israel, offered positive reception to the deal. The Jordanian government issued a statement expressing hope that the agreement would "lead to the end of the war, the implementation of the exchange agreement (of hostages and prisoners) and Israel's withdrawal from Gaza, as well as the delivery of humanitarian aid."
