Hamas Demands US Guarantees for Permanent End to Israel Conflict: Negotiator Cites History of Broken Promises

Hamas negotiator Khalil El-Hayya has requested formal guarantees from the United States and other sponsor countries to ensure Israel permanently ends hostilities, citing a history of broken ceasefire agreements. Speaking during Egypt-mediated talks, El-Hayya expressed deep distrust of Israeli commitments, claiming previous violations during the current conflict demonstrate the need for international assurances.

Hamas Seeks "Guarantees" From US That Israel "Will End War Once And For All"

Hamas's chief negotiator Khalil El-Hayya stated on Tuesday during indirect negotiations with Israel in Egypt that the organization is seeking "guarantees from President Trump and sponsor countries that the war will end once and for all."

"We do not trust the occupation, not even for a second," El-Hayya declared to Egyptian state-affiliated media outlet Al-Qahera News, in reference to Israel.

He further emphasized, "The Israeli occupation throughout history does not keep its promises, and we have experienced it twice in this war. Therefore, we want real guarantees." El-Hayya accused Israel of violating two ceasefires during the current conflict.

Hamas has expressed deep skepticism regarding Israel's commitment to any potential agreement, citing historical precedent of broken promises.
