Netanyahu Dials Qatar From White House, Apologises For Doha Attack

Netanyahu issued an apology to Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani during a phone conversation.

Washington DC:

During a trilateral phone call with US President Donald Trump, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed remorse for an Israeli military operation conducted in Doha, according to a White House statement.

The White House reported that Netanyahu acknowledged Israel's breach of Qatar's sovereignty and provided assurance that "Israel will not conduct such an attack again in the future."

According to the official statement, "The leaders discussed a proposal for ending the war in Gaza, prospects for a more secure Middle East, and the need for greater understanding between their countries," ahead of a joint press conference featuring Trump and the Israeli prime minister.

President Trump hosted Netanyahu for strategic discussions on Monday with the aim of encouraging him to support a peace initiative for Gaza designed to conclude a conflict that has lasted nearly two years, resulting in Israel's increasing diplomatic isolation.
