Ukraine is prepared to negotiate additional agreements with the United States regarding arms deliveries, including long-range weapons, supplementing an existing $90 billion arrangement, according to President Volodymyr Zelensky.
During a press conference in Kyiv on Saturday, Zelensky indicated he could not provide further details. Currently, Ukraine depends primarily on its indigenous long-range aerial capabilities—predominantly drones—to target military and energy infrastructure deep within Russian territory.
A delegation from Ukraine will conduct technical meetings in the United States either late this month or in early October to implement the practical aspects of the weapons purchase agreement, Zelensky announced. He added that the broad framework was established during discussions with US President Donald Trump on the sidelines of this week's UN General Assembly.

Technical teams from both Kyiv and Washington will also begin developing specifics regarding American purchases of Ukrainian drones, according to Zelensky.
In a separate development, Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko is scheduled to meet with American officials in October to discuss potential US investments in Ukraine as part of a joint investment fund established earlier this spring.
Zelensky also revealed that Ukraine is communicating with partner nations about sharing its methodologies for countering drone swarms, which have been a characteristic feature of Russia's invasion since 2022. "We plan to send a consulting group to several countries regarding counter-drone tactics. Additionally, some countries will dispatch representatives to Ukraine for training," Zelensky stated.

Ukraine received an American-made Patriot air defense system from Israel approximately one month ago, according to Zelensky. He mentioned expectations for two additional systems to arrive this autumn, though he did not specify their source.
Addressing recent Russian drone incursions into neighboring countries' airspace, Zelensky stated that on September 10, 92 UAVs were directed toward Poland. Ukraine intercepted the majority, though 19 penetrated into eastern Poland.
Additionally, Zelensky reported that a Hungarian drone was detected in Ukrainian airspace this week, an allegation that Hungary's military has denied.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha shared a map on the social media platform X on Saturday, purportedly showing the flight path of Friday's alleged drone incursion. "We continue to await Hungary's explanation," Sybiha remarked.
