A video from Flower Mound, Texas has gone viral showing a woman unleashing a racist verbal attack on a Hispanic DoorDash delivery driver. The footage, which was shared on TikTok and Instagram by the driver herself, has accumulated over 300,000 views. In the disturbing clip, the woman hurls racial insults, accusing the driver of being "illegal" and telling her to "go speak your language back in Mexico."
The confrontation occurred while the delivery driver was sitting in her vehicle preparing for a delivery. It remains unclear what initially triggered the woman's outburst. The video begins with the woman aggressively approaching the driver's car and immediately making accusations about her immigration status.
"You don't live in Flower Mound and you're DoorDashing," the woman can be heard shouting. "You know what, why are you entitled to be here with an illegal car?" When the driver responds, the woman mockingly says, "No speak English," to which the driver confirms, "Yeah." The woman then retorts, "Then speak it... Go speak your language back in Mexico."
During the heated exchange, the woman pulls out her mobile phone and begins recording the driver, even attempting to capture images of the vehicle's license plate. When she demands to see the driver's license, the delivery worker questions if she's a law enforcement officer. The video concludes with the woman continuing her rant, repeatedly saying "you know what" multiple times – a phrase that was later ridiculed by internet users.

The woman in the viral footage has been identified as Tonya Chadwell, a 58-year-old Flower Mound resident, according to public records. After the video spread widely online, Chadwell's daughter, Taye Chadwell, posted an apology on Facebook on September 24, expressing embarrassment and sadness regarding her mother's behavior. She clearly stated that she neither condones nor supports such conduct.
Taye Chadwell further revealed that she and her mother had not been on speaking terms for some time due to this "type of behavior, aggression and her racism towards my Hispanic boyfriend."
The incident has ignited widespread outrage across social media platforms. Thousands of users have condemned the woman's racist remarks, with many expressing shock that such hateful attitudes persist. One user commented, "Ma'am, yelling at a DoorDash driver isn't 'securing the border.' It's just embarrassing the rest of us."
Another person wrote, "Imagine living in Texas—a state built on Mexican heritage—and telling someone to 'go back to Mexico' for not speaking English. Language isn't a threat. Hate is. Do better, Flower Mound." A third added, "Ah, yes, the classic Texas etiquette: yell at people for not speaking your language while forgetting basic human decency."
The Flower Mound Police Department has confirmed that neither party involved in the incident filed a police report. Meanwhile, Mayor Cheryl Moore emphasized that the town, which has approximately 80,000 residents, values inclusivity and that Tonya Chadwell's actions "do not reflect the community's principles."
"We have many community events, many opportunities to come together, and we invite individuals from all ethnicities, all races, all religions. We just strive to be inclusive with everyone," Mayor Moore stated.
