President Donald Trump stated on Thursday that he will not permit Israel to annex the West Bank.
"There's been enough," Trump remarked to reporters in the Oval Office while signing executive orders unrelated to Middle East policy. "It's time to stop now," he added, seemingly referring to Israel.

Although Trump has frequently highlighted his close relationship with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the president has experienced pressure from Arab leaders who have publicly voiced concerns about potential Israeli military actions to annex additional territory.
Unlike Gaza, where Israel's conflict with Hamas continues, the West Bank is under the governance of the Palestinian Authority.
This week, ten countries including Britain, France, Canada, and Australia recognized Palestinian statehood, hoping to reinvigorate the long-dormant peace process. This diplomatic move has been strongly opposed by both the United States and Israel. Germany, one of Israel's closest allies, has not joined the calls for a ceasefire or supported Palestinian statehood, but has suspended some military exports.
Western nations have expressed outrage regarding Israel's intensifying offensive in Gaza, with several recognizing Palestinian statehood in response.
The European Union is currently considering implementing tariffs and sanctions. The likelihood of sports and cultural boycotts is increasing, and Israeli tourists have reported feeling unwelcome in certain countries.
