House Republicans Propose Charlie Kirk Commemorative Silver Dollar Coins Following Activist's Tragic Death

House Republicans are proposing legislation to feature conservative activist Charlie Kirk on commemorative silver dollar coins following his tragic shooting at Utah Valley University. If approved, Kirk would become the youngest American to appear on US currency, with 400,000 coins being minted to honor his legacy as a "conservative titan" who had significant impact on American politics.

Charlie Kirk Could Become Youngest American To Appear On US Currency Under New House Proposal

Charlie Kirk, the conservative activist who was fatally shot during a public event at Utah Valley University earlier this month, could potentially become the youngest American to be featured on US currency under a new House GOP proposal.

Kirk, a devoted supporter and former aide to US President Donald Trump, might be commemorated on special silver dollar coins as part of this initiative.

According to Fox News, two House Republican lawmakers—August Pfluger from Texas and Abe Hamadeh from Arizona—are advocating for the Trump administration to place Kirk's image on US currency.

The Republican representatives plan to introduce legislation later this week that would direct the US Treasury to mint 400,000 silver dollar coins featuring Kirk's likeness. If approved, this would make Kirk the youngest American ever to appear on US currency.

These commemorative coins would be considered legal tender. One side would display Kirk's image, while the reverse would feature the phrase, "Well done, good and faithful servant."

Additionally, the coins would likely include Kirk's full name, "Charles James Kirk," the year 2026, and both the full name and motto of the United States, according to reports.

In a statement to Fox News, Hamadeh described Kirk as an "American treasure," noting, "Since 1892, Congress has authorized commemorative coins to celebrate and honour historic American patriots."

"He tirelessly sacrificed his time, energy, and money to save this nation for future generations. Ultimately, at the hands of a radical leftist, he sacrificed his life," Hamadeh told the Republican Study Committee, adding, "His life must be commemorated, and this coin will allow us to pass a reminder of his remarkable life on to generations to come."

Pfluger remarked, "Charlie Kirk was a conservative titan whose transformational impact on millions of Americans deserves permanent recognition alongside our nation's greatest leaders and influential figures."

"The Treasury Secretary will choose the final design of the coins after consulting with President Donald Trump," Pfluger added. According to The Week, he stated, "This is a fitting honour that cements his extraordinary legacy alongside presidents and founding fathers who shaped our republic."
