Multiple Danish Airports Targeted by Coordinated Drone Activity Following Copenhagen Incident

Recent drone incursions have disrupted operations at multiple Danish airports including Aalborg, Esbjerg, Sonderborg, and Skrydstrup, following a similar incident at Copenhagen Airport. Authorities are investigating these coordinated activities by what they describe as a "capable actor," with suspicions of possible foreign involvement in the aerial surveillance of Denmark's critical aviation infrastructure.

Fresh Drone Activity Reported in Denmark Amid Copenhagen Probe

Drone activity was detected in the vicinity of Aalborg Airport and three additional smaller airports across Denmark during Wednesday night extending into early Thursday morning, according to police reports.

Authorities confirmed they were unable to neutralize the unmanned aerial vehicles but reassured the public that there was no immediate safety threat.

Operations at Aalborg Airport, which doubles as a military installation, were suspended for several hours. The drone sightings commenced just before 10 pm Wednesday and continued until shortly before 1 am Thursday.

The airports located in Esbjerg, Sonderborg, and Skrydstrup were also affected by this drone activity. This incident follows closely on the heels of a similar occurrence at Copenhagen Airport, which authorities have attributed to a "capable actor."

The earlier drone incursion over Copenhagen caused flight operations to be halted for several hours Monday night, raising suspicions about possible Russian involvement in the aerial surveillance of Scandinavia's busiest airport.

Government officials have scheduled a press conference for Thursday morning to address the situation. It remains unclear whether the Copenhagen incident is connected to the more recent drone activities observed later in the week.
