Inderjit Gosal is considered Pannun's right-hand man

Ottawa:

Canadian police have apprehended three Khalistani terrorists, including Inderjeet Singh Gosal, a close associate of Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, on firearms-related charges. The arrests occurred during a traffic stop operation in Ontario on September 19, according to official reports.

The suspects appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice in Oshawa on Monday facing multiple charges including careless use of a firearm, possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes, and carrying a concealed weapon, among other offenses, police confirmed in a statement to NDTV.

The police statement detailed: "The three individuals are facing firearms-related charges following a traffic stop in Oshawa. On Friday, September 19, 2025, at approximately 6:00 pm, officers conducted a traffic stop on Highway 407 near Harmony Road in Oshawa, Ontario. As a result, 36-year-old Inderjeet Gosal from Caledon, 41-year-old Jagdeep Singh from Pickville in New York, USA, and 23-year-old Arman Singh from Toronto, were arrested and charged."

Police authorities indicated that the arrests are part of an ongoing investigation. The accused are expected to face formal charges that could potentially result in prison sentences.

Inderjeet Singh Gosal, considered the right-hand man of Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, emerged as a key Canadian organizer for the US-based Khalistani group Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) following Hardeep Singh Nijjar's death in June 2023.

The 36-year-old extremist was previously arrested in November 2024 by Peel Regional Police after a violent incident at the Hindu Sabha Mandir in Brampton. He was granted conditional release at that time.

This action against Khalistani separatists represents a significant shift from Canada's previously permissive stance toward separatist groups operating within its borders under free speech protections.

The arrests occurred just one day after National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval and his Canadian counterpart Nathalie Drouin held comprehensive discussions in New Delhi focused on repairing bilateral relations that had deteriorated following a diplomatic dispute over the 2023 killing of Sikh separatist Nijjar.

During the meeting, Doval urged Canada to take action against Khalistani elements involved in anti-India terrorist activities and waging war against the Indian government.
