Ex-Nepal PM's Wife Who Suffered Burn Injuries During Protests Flown To India For Treatment

Former Nepal prime minister Jhalanath Khanal's wife, who sustained serious burn injuries during the 'Gen Z' protests on September 9, has been flown to India for further treatment.

The wife of former Nepal prime minister Jhalanath Khanal, who sustained severe burn injuries during the recent 'Gen Z' demonstrations, has been transported to India to receive advanced medical care.

She has been transferred to New Delhi for specialized treatment based on medical professionals' recommendations.

Kathmandu:

Ravi Laxmi Chitrakar, spouse of former Nepal prime minister Jhalanath Khanal, who experienced significant burn injuries during the September 9 'Gen Z' protests, has been evacuated to India for continued medical treatment.

Chitrakar sustained serious injuries when protesters set ablaze Khanal's residence in Kathmandu's Dallu area during the violent demonstrations.

Having suffered burns affecting 15 percent of her body, Chitrakar was initially receiving care at the Burn Hospital in Kirtipur.

According to family members, her left hand was completely damaged and she developed a chest infection as her lungs were compromised by smoke inhalation.

Following medical advice, she has been relocated to New Delhi to receive more specialized treatment.

Khanal served as Nepal's prime minister from February through August of 2011.
