Israeli President Condemns Deadly Sydney Shooting as "Cruel Attack on Jews"

At least 10 individuals lost their lives when two armed assailants opened fire at Sydney's popular Bondi Beach area today.

Israeli President Isaac Herzog has strongly denounced Sunday's shooting incident in Sydney, describing it as a "cruel attack on Jews" and called upon Australian authorities to intensify efforts against antisemitism.

"At this very moment, our sisters and brothers in Sydney, Australia, have fallen victim to vile terrorists in a particularly cruel attack targeting Jews," Herzog stated during his address at an event in Jerusalem, where he urged Australia to "combat the massive wave of antisemitism currently afflicting Australian society".

Australian officials have not yet confirmed whether the attack specifically targeted the Jewish community.
