Palestinian President Mahmud Abbas explicitly denounced Hamas's October 2023 attack on Israel.

In an address to a United Nations summit focused on a two-state solution, Palestinian President Mahmud Abbas demanded Monday that Hamas relinquish its weapons to his Palestinian Authority while condemning the group's deadly assault on Israel.
"Hamas will have no place in the governance of Gaza. Hamas and other factions must hand over their weapons to the Palestinian Authority," he stated via video conference after being denied a U.S. visa to attend in person.
"We also condemn the killing and detention of civilians, including the actions carried out by Hamas on October 7, 2023."
