Satya Nadella Reveals He's Spending Free Time Designing A Cricket App

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has been utilizing his leisure time to code and develop a personal cricket application, combining his technological expertise with his passion for the sport.

During a Thursday event in Bangalore, Nadella shared that he created a Deep Research AI application over the Thanksgiving holiday. His first project with the app was curating a team of legendary players from Indian test cricket history.

"The system generated consensus areas, debates, reasoning chains, and more. It was truly remarkable," Nadella explained at the Microsoft gathering. "I felt like I wanted to join the Copilot team after this experience."

This cricket application aligns well with Nadella's growing investments in the sport. He recently participated in a consortium of technology executives that acquired a 49% stake in the UK team London Spirit for £147 million ($182 million). Additionally, he co-owns the Seattle Orcas, a professional T20 cricket team based near Microsoft's headquarters.

Nadella's visit to India this week includes meetings with business leaders and politicians. Microsoft has announced a substantial commitment of $17.5 billion for artificial intelligence and cloud computing investments in India over the next four years, recognizing the growth potential in the world's most populous nation.
