Pakistani Student Arrested in US for Planning Mass Shooting at University of Delaware Campus

A 25-year-old Pakistani immigrant and University of Delaware student, Luqmaan Khan, has been arrested after authorities discovered weapons, ammunition, and a disturbing manifesto detailing plans for a campus attack. The FBI recovered multiple firearms including an illegal automatic weapon, while the suspect's notebook contained phrases like "kill all" and "martyrdom" alongside tactical plans targeting university police.

Luqmaan Khan, a 25-year-old Pakistani immigrant and University of Delaware student, has been arrested in the United States for allegedly planning a mass shooting on campus.

Khan was apprehended on November 24 when police found him in his pickup truck at a park after hours and conducted a search of the vehicle, according to the US Department of Justice.

During the search, officers discovered a .357 calibre Glock handgun loaded with 27 rounds inserted into a microplastic conversion firearm brace kit. They also found three additional loaded 27-round magazines, a loaded Glock 9mm magazine, an armoured ballistic plate, and a marble composition notebook.

The handwritten notebook contained disturbing details about weapons, attack strategies, and methods to evade law enforcement. It specifically referenced a University of Delaware Police Department member by name and included a layout of the police station with entry and exit points clearly marked.

Authorities noted that phrases such as "kill all" and "martyrdom" appeared repeatedly throughout the manifesto. Police described the notebook's contents as "premeditated assault plans" and "warfare techniques."

While the complete motivation behind the alleged attack remains unclear, Khan reportedly told police after his arrest that becoming a martyr was "one of the greatest things you can do."

Though born in Pakistan, Khan has lived in the United States since he was a "youth" and is an American citizen.

Following Khan's arrest, the FBI conducted a raid on his Wilmington residence where they discovered an AR-style rifle equipped with a red-dot scope and a second Glock pistol. The pistol was fitted with an illegal device converting it to a fully automatic machine gun capable of firing 1,200 rounds per minute.

Investigators also found eleven additional extended magazines, hollow-point bullets, and a bulletproof vest. None of the weapons in Khan's possession were registered.

Khan was charged with illegally possessing a machine gun on November 26, two days after his initial arrest. He currently remains in custody as the FBI continues its investigation into the case.
