Intoxicated Raccoon Breaks Into Virginia Liquor Store and Passes Out in Bathroom

A peculiar suspect involved in a liquor store break-in in Virginia, USA, left behind a chaotic scene of shattered glass before collapsing in an intoxicated state on the floor.

The perpetrator of this alcohol-fueled escapade was subsequently released into the wilderness without any charges after several hours of rest to recover from intoxication.

According to the Hanover County Animal Protection and Shelter's report on Tuesday, a raccoon infiltrated the Ashland ABC Store during the Thanksgiving Holiday weekend.

An animal protection officer responding to the call on Saturday morning discovered that the "culprit" had devastated multiple shelves before passing out in the restroom area.

Photographic evidence revealed an aisle strewn with broken bottles, and the raccoon sprawled face-down adjacent to the toilet facility.

"Following a few hours of recuperation and showing no signs of injury (apart from possibly a hangover and questionable life decisions), the raccoon was safely returned to its natural habitat, hopefully having learned that breaking and entering is not the solution," stated the shelter in their Facebook announcement.

"A genuine drunk invariably collapses near the toilet," humorously commented Facebook user Tom Wright.

Native to North America, raccoons are characterized by their nimble paws. These nocturnal creatures frequently search through garbage and various locations while foraging for food.
