Dell Founders Pledge Historic $6.25 Billion to Fund Trump Accounts for 25 Million American Children

Michael and Susan Dell have announced a landmark $6.25 billion donation to establish "Trump accounts" for 25 million American children under age 10. This initiative extends President Trump's original program that provides savings accounts to newborns, targeting children born before the cutoff date. Each child will receive $250 to begin building financial foundations, with accounts becoming accessible at age 18. This historic philanthropic contribution aims to give more children a stake in American prosperity and financial education.

Dell Founder, Wife Pledge $6.25 Billion To 'Trump Accounts' For Children

Computer entrepreneur Michael Dell and his spouse Susan have announced their commitment to contribute to "Trump accounts" for children.

United States:

Computer industry magnate Michael Dell and his wife Susan announced on Tuesday that they are donating $6.25 billion to establish children's trust funds under an initiative created by US President Donald Trump.

The "Trump accounts" program, which provides $1,000 for all children born after January 1, 2025, was incorporated into the "One Big Beautiful Bill" that the Republican president successfully guided through Congress in July.

With the Dell contribution, $250 deposits will now be placed in savings accounts for at least 25 million children aged 10 and under who were born before the original program's eligibility date.

During a White House ceremony, Trump stated, "This will give millions of children a stake in American prosperity, a benefit from the rising stock market, and a better shot at the American dream."

"This is truly one of the most generous acts in the history of our country."

Dell Technologies founder and CEO, 60-year-old Michael Dell, expressed hope that these accounts would teach children the importance of saving for their future.

"We kind of started with a smaller amount to be honest" but then decided to increase their donation, Michael Dell explained.

"We believe this is the greatest investment we can possibly make in children," Susan Dell added.

$6.25 billion. 25 million children. $250 each. Susan and I believe the smartest investment we can make is in children. That's why we're so excited to contribute $6.25 billion from our charitable funds to help 25 million children start building a strong financial foundation.

The "Trump accounts" will become accessible to children when they reach 18 years of age.

According to a fact sheet from the Dells' charitable foundation, their donation will reach nearly 80 percent of children aged 10 and under, with a particular focus on those living in the lowest-income areas.

The "Trump accounts" for newborns were included in the controversial tax and spending bill that Trump urged Republicans to pass through a hesitant Congress to solidify his second-term agenda.

The legislation also allocated substantial new funding for Trump's migrant deportation initiatives, while reducing health and welfare support, raising concerns about potential increases to the US national debt.
