Imran Khan's Son Demands Proof of Life as Former Pakistan PM Remains in Solitary Confinement

Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has been kept in solitary confinement for six weeks with no family visits allowed despite court orders. His son Kasim Khan has demanded proof that his father is still alive, as concerns grow over the 73-year-old political leader's health and safety after 845 days of imprisonment in Adiala Jail.

We Demand Proof Of His Life: Ex-Pak PM Imran Khan's Son Amid Death Rumours

Speculation has been circulating that Imran Khan has been killed while imprisoned.

In Lahore, the son of Pakistan's incarcerated former prime minister Imran Khan has called on the government to provide evidence that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder remains alive.

"We demand proof of Imran Khan's life," stated Kasim Khan in a social media post published Friday evening.

Rumors have been spreading that the 73-year-old former cricket star turned political leader has been killed in prison, as neither family members, legal representatives, nor party associates have been permitted to visit him for an entire month.

The former prime minister has been confined in Rawalpindi's Adiala Jail for over two years facing multiple legal cases.

Khan's three sisters, PTI activists, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi have established a camp outside Adiala Jail in recent days, pressuring Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif's government to allow family visitations.

"My father has been under arrest for 845 days. For the past six weeks, he has been kept in solitary confinement in a death cell with zero transparency. His sisters have been denied every visit, even with clear court orders allowing access. There have been no phone calls, no meetings and no proof of life. Me and my brother have had no contact with our father," Kasim explained.

Criticizing the administration, Kasim further emphasized that "this absolute blackout is not a security protocol."

"Rather it is a deliberate attempt to hide my father's condition and prevent our family from knowing whether he is safe. Let it be clear -- the Pakistani government and its handlers will be held fully accountable legally, morally and internationally for my father's safety and for every consequence of this inhumane isolation," he declared.

He also urged the international community, global human rights organizations, and democratic voices worldwide to take urgent action.

"We demand proof of his life, enforce court ordered access, end this inhumane isolation and call for the release of Pakistan's most popular political leader who is being held solely for political reasons," Khan's son stated.

Kasim shared a post claiming that Khan has significantly lost weight, is experiencing vision problems, and there's growing concern about possible slow poisoning.

Khan's party has threatened nationwide demonstrations if authorities continue to prevent his sisters from visiting him.

His sisters have also warned that if any harm befalls Khan, those responsible and their families will face consequences from Pakistanis both domestically and internationally.

On Friday, Khan's sister Aleema Khan submitted a contempt of court petition to the Islamabad High Court (IHC) against the Adiala Jail superintendent and other officials for denying access to Pakistan's imprisoned former prime minister.

Aleema filed the petition in the presence of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi and other PTI leaders.

The petition referenced the IHC's March 24 ruling, which had reinstated a twice-weekly meeting schedule for Khan.
