New Delhi:
In northwest Delhi's Karala area, a 16-year-old boy was fatally stabbed following an altercation, police announced on Friday. Three juveniles have been detained in connection with this murder as authorities continue their investigation.
Police officials stated they were notified on Thursday about the teenager who had been transported to a Rohini hospital with stab wounds and was pronounced dead upon arrival.
A police team promptly visited the hospital before proceeding to investigate the crime scene.
"During the investigation, officers recorded a statement from the victim's cousin, also a juvenile, who claimed to have witnessed the incident. He informed police that he and his friend Armaan (18) rushed to the location after receiving a call about an ongoing dispute," explained a police officer.
The officer further revealed that the deceased teenager and others were engaged in a heated argument with three 15-year-old boys. During this confrontation, one of the juveniles allegedly stabbed the victim in both the abdomen and thigh before all three suspects fled the scene.
"We reviewed CCTV footage and gathered intelligence from local sources. Two of the juvenile suspects have been detained. The victim was an 11th-grade student at a private school in Karala. His father works for NDPL, while his mother is a homemaker. We are currently interrogating the detained juveniles to determine the precise motive behind this murder," the officer added.
