Mumbai Police Rescue 5-Year-Old Girl Trafficked by Relatives for Rs 90,000

Mumbai Police have successfully rescued a five-year-old girl who was kidnapped and sold for Rs 90,000, tracking her to Panvel and safely reuniting her with her mother.

Investigators revealed that the child was abducted in the middle of the night from Vakola in Santacruz (East) by her own maternal uncle and aunt. According to police reports, the relatives sold the young girl for Rs 90,000, after which the buyer subsequently resold her to another individual for Rs 1,80,000.

Mumbai Police shared details of the case on social media, stating: "In a case involving the kidnapping and trafficking of a 5-year-old girl, @VakolaPS traced the child to Panvel and successfully apprehended five accused. Investigations revealed that the girl's maternal uncle and aunt abducted her at midnight and sold her for Rs 90,000. The buyer then resold the child to another person for Rs 1,80,000. Acting swiftly, the @VakolaPS rescued the girl from Panvel and safely reunited her with her mother."

Following the complaint, officials from Vakola Police Station immediately launched an investigation and located the girl in Panvel. A police team rescued the child and returned her to Mumbai on November 25, where an officer provided her with chocolates to comfort her before reuniting her with her mother.

Authorities have arrested all five individuals connected to the kidnapping and human trafficking operation.
