The police have not found any suicide note at the scene.
Faridabad:
A 17-year-old female JEE Main aspirant reportedly took her own life by jumping from the 10th floor of Ador Society in Sector 88, Greater Faridabad, authorities announced on Thursday.
Police investigations indicate that the teenager had been battling depression for some time.
Authorities believe the primary cause of suicide was pressure from competitive examinations, though no suicide note was discovered.
According to police reports, the girl resided with her family on the third floor of the residential complex. Her father works for a private company in Kolkata.
On Wednesday evening, when her mother and younger brother were away from home, the girl used the elevator to travel from the third floor to the tenth floor before jumping to her death.
A security guard stationed at the society gate heard the impact and discovered the girl lying in a pool of blood. He immediately notified her family, who rushed her to a nearby private hospital where doctors pronounced her dead.
Police investigation revealed that the girl had excelled in her 12th grade board examinations last year, scoring 95 percent marks.
She subsequently attempted the JEE Main examination but failed to qualify. This failure caused her significant distress. Upon learning of her condition, her parents arranged for her to receive treatment at a hospital in Delhi.
"The student had been receiving treatment for depression for quite some time. She was distressed about her inability to clear the JEE pre-main exams and was preparing to take them again. Following postmortem examination, the body has been returned to the family," stated a senior police officer.
