Major Anti-Terror Operation: J&K Police Raid 20 Jamaat-i-Islami Locations Following Delhi Blast Investigation

The searches were conducted early morning, with Pulwama Police spearheading the operation.

Jammu and Kashmir Police executed a significant operation targeting locations associated with the prohibited Jamaat-i-Islami (JeI) organization, searching more than 20 premises spanning eight districts on Thursday.

The raids commenced in the early hours, led by Pulwama Police and supported by executive magistrates and witnesses. The operation initially focused on South Kashmir before extending to districts in Central and North Kashmir.

These raids form part of the Jammu and Kashmir Police's continued efforts to disrupt radical networks and prevent terrorism-related activities, following the recent uncovering of a white-collar Jaish module comprising medical professionals involved in the Delhi Red Fort explosion.

Investigations into the Delhi suicide bombing have revealed the involvement of Moulvi Irfan Ahmad, a religious leader from Shopian district, who has been identified for allegedly radicalizing a group of doctors and encouraging them toward extremist activities.

Evidence suggests Ahmad played a crucial role in indoctrinating these individuals, including suicide bomber Umar un Nabi, Dr. Muzamil, Dr. Adil Rather, and others implicated in the Delhi Blast case.

Ahmad's influence is considered to have been instrumental in the radicalization process, guiding these individuals toward extremist ideologies.

Security agencies are now investigating the breadth of Ahmad's network and his connections with other radical elements.

In a related development, Jammu Police apprehended a 19-year-old individual from Reasi district, who was allegedly radicalized online and planning terrorist activities.

Investigations indicate the suspect maintained communication with individuals based in Pakistan and other countries, and authorities have confiscated his digital devices for further examination.
