Tej Pratap Yadav's "Sudarshan Chakra" Warning Amid Row Over Sister's Post

Tej Pratap Yadav has stepped forward to defend his sister Rohini Acharya following controversy around her cryptic social media post

In the midst of speculation surrounding a social media message posted by Lalu Yadav's daughter Rohini Acharya, her brother and the RJD leader's eldest son, Tej Pratap Yadav, has issued a stern warning that anyone insulting his sisters would face Lord Krishna's "Sudarshan Chakra."

Ms Acharya, who donated a kidney to her father Lalu Yadav in 2022, has created a stir in political circles with her post on X. "I have fulfilled my duty and dharma as a daughter and a sister, and will continue doing so. I have no desire for any position, nor do I harbor political ambitions. For me, my self-respect is paramount," she wrote, igniting questions about potential issues within the RJD.

She subsequently unfollowed all RJD leaders, including her brother and the party's figurehead, Tejashwi Yadav, and made her account private. Previously, she had publicly highlighted a photograph showing Tejashwi Yadav's aide Sanjay Yadav occupying the front seat in the party's campaign vehicle.

Unverified reports suggest she was expecting an Assembly election ticket, but party leadership dismissed this possibility. In last year's Lok Sabha elections, she had contested unsuccessfully from Saran constituency.

As RJD's political opponents use Rohini Acharya's posts to criticize Tejashwi Yadav, his elder brother has voiced support for his sister. "Rohini is significantly older than me. As a child, I played in her lap. The sacrifice she made is difficult for any daughter, sister or mother," he stated, referring to Rohini donating her kidney to their father.

"I stand completely with my sister in this ongoing situation. Anyone who dares insult her will face Krishna's 'Sudarshan Chakra'," Tej Pratap Yadav declared.

Tej Pratap Yadav, an MLA and former state minister, was expelled from the RJD following controversy over a now-deleted Facebook post announcing his romantic relationship with a woman named Anushka Yadav. Tej Pratap initially claimed his profile had been hacked, but later stated "no one would tolerate interference in their personal life." With elections approaching, Tej Pratap has established his own political platform, Team Tej Pratap, and has begun announcing candidates.

Meanwhile, Rohini Acharya's enigmatic social media post has given RJD's rivals opportunity to target Lalu Yadav's family. JD(U) spokesperson Neeraj Kumar said, "Rohini Acharya is a daughter who donated a kidney for her father. She has expressed her pain through a tweet. Now, Lalu Yadav, as head of the family, it is your responsibility to determine who is at fault." The RJD has not officially responded to Ms Acharya's post.
