Major Terror Plot Foiled in Punjab: Four Lawrence Bishnoi Gang Members Arrested After Gunfight

Police thwarted a significant terrorism plot in Punjab by arresting four Lawrence Bishnoi gang members following a gunfight. The operatives, working under foreign handler Goldy Dhillon, were planning attacks in the Tricity region and Patiala. Seven pistols and ammunition were seized during the joint operation by Punjab Anti-Gangster Task Force and local police, with investigations ongoing to identify additional network members.

Terror Plot Targeting Punjab Foiled, Lawrence Bishnoi Gang Members Arrested

A significant terrorism conspiracy was thwarted in Punjab when authorities apprehended four Lawrence Bishnoi gang operatives following a gunfire exchange this afternoon. According to police reports, these individuals were allegedly operating under instructions from their overseas handler, Goldy Dhillon, and were planning targeted assaults in the Tricity region (comprising Chandigarh, Mohali, and Panchkula) as well as the Patiala area.

The joint operation conducted by the Punjab Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) and SAS Nagar Police resulted in the arrest of Harvinder Singh (also known as Bhola or Honey) and Lakhwinder Singh, both from Dhakansu Kalan in Rajpura, Patiala, alongside Mohammad Samir and Rohit Sharma, also Rajpura residents. Law enforcement recovered seven .32 calibre pistols and 70 live ammunition rounds from their possession.

Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) of AGTF, Promod Ban, revealed that authorities surrounded a property along the Dera Bassi-Ambala highway after receiving intelligence about the suspects' location there.

During the apprehension attempt, the suspects fired at the police team, with bullets striking the bulletproof vests worn by Head Constable Gagandeep Singh and Constable Gulab Singh. In the ensuing exchange, suspects Harvinder Singh (Bhola) and Mohammad Samir sustained gunshot wounds before being subdued along with the other two accused.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of SAS Nagar, Harmandeep Hans, who inspected the scene, confirmed that all four apprehended individuals have criminal backgrounds. He stated that investigations are continuing to identify additional members of this network, with more arrests and seizures anticipated in the coming days.
