Assam Police Arrest Man With Links to Pakistani Terror Groups and Rohingya Militants

Authorities in Assam have arrested Munser Ali from Kharupetia in Darrang district for allegedly maintaining connections with terrorist organizations including the Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army and Tahrik-e-Taliban Pakistan. Intelligence suggests he was planning sleeper cell operations across multiple locations in the state after returning from Tamil Nadu.

Man Arrested In Assam Over Links With Pak Terror Groups, Rohingya Militants

A suspect has been apprehended in Kharupetia within Assam's Darrang district on charges related to terrorist connections. The individual has been identified as Munser Ali, a resident of West Kamarpara village.

Authorities have accused Munser Ali of maintaining significant connections with both the Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army and Tahrik-e-Taliban Pakistan. He had recently returned to Kharupetia from Tamil Nadu where he had been employed.

According to officials, Ali allegedly maintained communications with Bangladeshi extremist elements through various social media platforms. Intelligence suggests he was formulating plans for sleeper cell operations not only in Kharupetia but also across multiple strategic locations throughout Assam.

Following his arrest, he was placed in judicial custody today in Guwahati.

A police official stated, "Ali had only recently returned to Kharupetia after his employment period in Tamil Nadu, and intelligence information indicates he was organizing subversive activities in Kharupetia as well as other strategic locations across the state."
