Fatal Domestic Violence: Intoxicated Husband Kills Wife in Jharkhand Altercation

The man violently slammed his wife to the ground during their heated argument.

In a tragic incident in Jharkhand's Palamu district, a 22-year-old woman lost her life after her husband allegedly lifted her and forcefully slammed her to the ground during an alcohol-fueled confrontation, according to police reports.

The fatal incident occurred on Monday night in Datam Badi Jharia, which falls under the jurisdiction of Ramgarh police station. Authorities arrested the 25-year-old husband, Upendra Parhiya, on Tuesday afternoon following the incident.

Officials confirmed that the body of the victim, Shilpi Devi, was transported to the Medinirai Medical College and Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

According to police investigations, Upendra was intoxicated at their residence when Shilpi returned home also under the influence of alcohol. This situation infuriated Upendra, who confronted his wife about her intoxicated state, triggering a heated argument between the couple.

As tensions escalated, Upendra began physically assaulting Shilpi before suddenly lifting her and violently slamming her to the ground with significant force, resulting in fatal injuries.

The couple, who had been married for three years, have one child together.
