Bengaluru:
The Bengaluru police announced Tuesday that they have successfully recovered the entire sum of Rs 7.11 crore that was stolen from a cash van during a heist in the city.
Nine suspects, among them police constable Annappa Naik, have been taken into custody following the investigation.
"A total of nine individuals have been arrested, and the entire Rs 7.11 crore in cash has been recovered," stated police officials in their report.
Three primary suspects were captured within two days of the incident, leading to the recovery of Rs 5.76 crore.
On November 23, authorities arrested three additional suspects near Nampally Metro Station in Hyderabad, recovering Rs 54.74 lakh from their possession.
Most recently, on Monday, three more suspects were apprehended - one from a flat near Halesuru Lake in Bengaluru and two others near a tea shop at Sumanahalli Junction.
"The six arrested suspects have been presented before the court and remanded to police custody for continued investigation. The case investigation remains active," officials confirmed.
