Hyderabad:
On Tuesday, a Class 10 female student tragically ended her life by jumping from the fifth floor of her school building in Hyderabad.
The tragic event occurred at a private educational institution located in the Habsiguda area of the city.
According to reports, the 15-year-old was distressed after being reprimanded by her parents regarding her poor academic performance.
Law enforcement officials promptly arrived at the scene and transported the body to Gandhi Hospital in Secunderabad for post-mortem examination.
Authorities have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
This tragedy represents the second student suicide case reported in Telangana recently.
On Monday, another Class 10 student reportedly committed suicide at the Telangana Minority Residential School in Chandrur, Nizamabad district. The student was discovered hanging from an iron rod in his room, having used a bedsheet.
Fellow students discovered him and immediately alerted staff members, who subsequently informed police and the student's family. Authorities rushed to the location and moved the body to Nizamabad Government General Hospital for autopsy.
The motivations behind this student's suicide remain unclear. Family members indicated he appeared normal when he visited Nizamabad the previous day to update his Aadhaar card information.
Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into this incident as well.
Taking serious note of the occurrence, the Telangana Minorities Residential Educational Institutions Society (TMREIS) suspended three school employees for negligence in their duties.
Hyderabad MP and AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi contacted TMREIS Vice-Chairman Faheem Qureshi regarding the incident. He requested a comprehensive investigation and appropriate action against responsible parties.
The MP also urged the government to provide financial assistance and comprehensive support to the boy's family. Owaisi advocated for a government position to be offered to a family member.
Qureshi also reached out to the student's family and committed to providing all possible assistance. He instructed TIMREIS officials in the district to conduct a thorough inquiry. Following a preliminary investigation, three school employees were suspended for negligence.
