IAS Officer's "Until A Brahmin Donates His Daughter" Remark Sparks Row

Senior IAS officer Santosh Verma has found himself embroiled in controversy following remarks made at a recent organizational convention in Bhopal.
During an event at Bhopal's Ambedkar Maidan on Sunday, Verma, the newly elected provincial president of AJAKS, an association representing employees from Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) in Madhya Pradesh, made a controversial statement that quickly gained attention online.
Verma stated, "Until a Brahmin donates his daughter to my son or has a relationship with him, reservations should continue." This comment, captured on video, rapidly spread across social media platforms.
Brahmin organizations across the state have strongly condemned the statement, characterizing it as "indecent, casteist, and deeply insulting to Brahmin daughters."
Pushpendra Mishra, state president of All India Brahmin Samaj, called for immediate legal action, stating, "An FIR should be lodged immediately for comments made against Brahmin daughters. The IAS officer's remarks are indecent, objectionable, and an insult to the Brahmin community. If a criminal case is not filed soon, the Brahmin Samaj will launch a statewide protest."
Mishra further noted that such comments violate All India Services Conduct Rules, particularly at a time when the government is actively promoting initiatives like Ladli Laxmi, Ladli Behna, and Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao, all designed to uphold the dignity and welfare of girls and women.
This is not Verma's first brush with controversy. As a former officer of the Madhya Pradesh State Administrative Service, his past includes allegations of forging court orders and falsifying signatures of a CBI judge to claim relief in cases filed against him.
In Indore, authorities arrested Verma after a judge filed a complaint accusing him of forging two court orders connected to a case involving alleged criminal intimidation of a woman.
Reports indicate that Verma allegedly utilized these forged documents to facilitate his promotion from the state cadre to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS).
Additionally, Verma has faced accusations in two exploitation cases where women claimed he promised marriage before subsequently intimidating or deceiving them.
