Tragic Death of News Anchor Ritumoni Roy Found in Guwahati Office Days Before Her Wedding

A young female journalist who served as an anchor for a local news portal was discovered dead inside her office in Guwahati on Monday morning, according to officials.

Identified as Ritumoni Roy, the woman was preparing for her wedding scheduled for December 5. Wedding invitations had already been distributed, and just the evening before the incident, she had participated in a pre-wedding celebration at a friend's residence. Ritumoni returned to her workplace afterward and later that night, allegedly took her own life, officials reported.

Initial reports suggest that Ritumoni had reported for work on November 23 but failed to return home after completing her shift that night. Her body was subsequently found by colleagues the following morning.

Police discovered a note at the scene stating, "It is for the good of everyone. Sorry."

Prior to her current position, Ritumoni had worked with several other digital media organizations.

Family sources have suggested a potential financial motive behind the alleged suicide.

Police have filed a case and are currently investigating all possible circumstances.
