60-Year-Old Pilot Arrested for Sexual Assault of Cabin Crew Member at Luxury Bengaluru Hotel

A 60-year-old pilot working for a private aviation firm has been charged with sexually assaulting a 26-year-old cabin crew member at a five-star hotel in Bengaluru. The incident occurred during an overnight stay between flights, with authorities now investigating under section 63 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita after the victim filed a complaint upon returning to Begumpet.

Authorities have filed an FIR against Rohit Saran, a 60-year-old pilot employed by a private aviation company, for allegedly sexually assaulting a 26-year-old cabin crew member at a luxury hotel in Bengaluru.

The alleged assault occurred on November 18 after the accused pilot, the victim, and another pilot arrived at the five-star establishment following flights from Begumpet in Hyderabad and Puttaparthi in Andhra Pradesh on a chartered aircraft.

According to police reports, the flight crew had checked into the hotel to rest before their scheduled return flight to Puttaparthi on November 19.

In her official statement to authorities, the survivor claimed that Saran initially invited her to accompany him outside his room under the pretense of smoking. She further alleged that he subsequently forced her into his room and committed the assault.

Upon returning to Begumpet on November 20, the cabin crew member promptly reported the incident to her company's management and filed a zero First Information Report at the Begumpet police station.

Law enforcement has registered a case under section 63 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which addresses rape offenses. The investigation has now been transferred to Halasuru Police Station in Bengaluru City for further examination and action.
