Agar Malwa:
The incident took place at the village market within the jurisdiction of Nalakheda police station, according to police reports.
Sub-Inspector Sardar Singh Parmar stated that the accused, Mohammad Shahid (55), was immediately brought to the Baragaon police outpost after authorities were notified of the situation. He was subsequently charged under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act and section 170 of the BNSS, which deals with the arrest of individuals to prevent the commission of a cognisable offense.
The officer denied reports suggesting that Shahid was paraded in the presence of police personnel.
He claimed that police transferred Shahid to the outpost as soon as they received information about the incident.
Nalakheda station in-charge Nagesh Yadav reported that the accused was issued a notice and presented before the competent Tehsildar's court, from where he was remanded to judicial custody under the BNSS.
According to reports, Shahid allegedly committed the act on September 9 near an Eidgah in the village, which was witnessed by some local residents.
On Saturday, these witnesses alerted members of a local Hindu organization, who then paraded him while chanting slogans.
