Four BPO Employees Kidnapped in Bengaluru's Koramangala Area, Rs 18.9 Lakh Ransom Demanded

Bengaluru:
Four senior employees of a private enterprise in Bengaluru were abducted on Saturday morning from the vibrant Koramangala district of the city. Law enforcement officials apprehended eight individuals and confiscated a Toyota Innova and a Maruti Suzuki Wagon R that were utilized in this criminal activity.
The abducted individuals were employed at a Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) organization named Global Telecom Connect Pvt Limited. According to authorities, the perpetrators demanded a ransom of Rs 18.9 lakh from the BPO company employees.
Describing the incident to media representatives, Sarah Fathima, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) for South East Bengaluru, explained, "The perpetrators informed the victims that police officers were waiting for them at the ground floor of the office building. They convinced them (BPO employees) to come downstairs and subsequently kidnapped them."
DCP Fathima revealed that the kidnappers forced one victim to transfer the ransom amount to accounts belonging to their relatives. The abductors also requested physical currency, she added.
"We were alerted through a 112 emergency call. We formed specialized teams that tracked down the perpetrators, arrested them, and seized two vehicles used in executing the crime," the DCP further elaborated.
Law enforcement has registered a formal case of kidnapping for ransom.
