7-Year-Old Girl Sexually Assaulted and Injected by Unknown Man on School Grounds in Gujarat

An investigation has been initiated after a 7-year-old girl in Class 2 was reportedly sexually assaulted twice and administered an injection by an unidentified man on her school premises in Vijapur town of Gujarat's Mehsana district, authorities confirmed on Saturday.

According to the child's statement to her parents, a man led her to the garden area behind her school and inappropriately touched her on November 19. The same perpetrator allegedly assaulted her again on November 20, during which he administered an injection into her right hand.

The victim reported that the assailant threatened to take her life if she revealed the incidents to anyone.

After complaining of abdominal pain, the girl was hospitalized. Her father subsequently filed a police complaint regarding the assaults.

"We have documented a case against an unknown individual under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act," stated Inspector G A Solanki of Vijapur Police Station.

Authorities are currently reviewing CCTV footage from the area and waiting for medical examination results to identify the substance administered via injection, the inspector added.
