16 Students Fall Unconscious After Gas Leak at UP School: Investigation Launched and Medical Care Provided

Approximately 16 students lost consciousness following a suspected gas leak incident at a private educational institution in Sandila town on Thursday, according to official reports.

The affected students were immediately transported to two local private medical facilities, with one child subsequently transferred to Lucknow for specialized treatment.

District Magistrate Anunay Jha has confirmed that an investigation into the incident has been initiated and guaranteed that appropriate measures will be taken once the source of the leak is definitively identified.

Officials reported that a potent gas odor permeated throughout the school building, causing panic among students who promptly exited their classrooms.

School staff acted swiftly to evacuate all students from the premises and notified both parents and administrative authorities about the situation.

Both DM Jha and Superintendent of Police Ashok Kumar Meena visited the location with additional officials and checked on the children receiving medical attention.

According to Jha, while approximately 16 students were affected by the incident, all are currently in stable condition.

"One child has been referred to King George's Medical University in Lucknow. We have not yet determined the exact source of the gas leak. Appropriate legal action will be implemented following the completion of our inquiry," he stated.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has acknowledged the incident and instructed officials to ensure the children receive proper medical care while conducting a comprehensive investigation into the matter.
