Santram Saini's family informed authorities that he had been experiencing significant mental pressure, according to representatives.
Jaipur:
A supervisor involved in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Rajasthan passed away after experiencing chest pains in Karauli. Family members have claimed that he had been under considerable stress due to the ongoing electoral revision campaign, officials reported on Thursday.
Santram Saini (45), employed as a school lecturer at the PM Shri Government Senior Secondary School in Hindaun and assigned as an SIR supervisor, experienced sudden chest pain at his residence in Karsooli village on Wednesday night. He collapsed shortly afterward, according to police reports.
When speaking with police, Saini's family members indicated that he had been suffering from severe mental stress resulting from the SIR-related workload and pressure from officials. They mentioned that he had recently received a notice connected to the electoral exercise and had been noticeably withdrawn over the past several days.
ASI Shiv Lal Meena from Sadar Police Station noted that the family did not submit a formal complaint regarding the incident.
The post-mortem examination was performed at the district hospital with police officials present, after which Saini's remains were returned to his family on Thursday.
This death occurred just one day after a Booth Level Officer (BLO) working on SIR duty in Sawai Madhopur died from a heart attack, an incident that had already generated concern among personnel involved in the intensive electoral roll revision process.
