Fatal Collision in Himachal Pradesh: Three Killed in Car-Truck Accident on Santokhgarh-Tahliwal Road

Three individuals lost their lives instantly when their car collided head-on with a tipper truck near the Jio petrol pump in Tahliwal, according to police statements released Thursday. The fatal accident occurred around midnight Wednesday on the Santokhgarh-Tahliwal main road.

The vehicle was reportedly traveling at excessive speed, resulting in a devastating impact that completely destroyed the front portion of the car. According to a witness who alerted authorities, the collision was so violent that the car split into two sections, leading to the immediate death of all three occupants.

Authorities have identified the deceased as Taranjit Singh (22) and Mayank (20), both from Mehatpur, along with Kiran Devi.

The accident occurred while the three victims—two men and one woman—were traveling from Santokhgarh to Tahliwal.

The collision produced a loud crash that drew nearby residents to the scene, though rescuing the trapped victims proved extremely challenging.

Witnesses and passersby promptly contacted law enforcement, after which Tahliwal police and emergency medical personnel arrived at the accident site. Despite significant rescue efforts, all three victims had already succumbed to their injuries by the time they were extracted from the wreckage.

Tahliwal police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the accident's cause. Authorities are also gathering information regarding the tipper truck driver, investigating whether the driver remained at the scene or fled following the collision.

Initial investigations suggest high speed and inadequate road lighting as potential contributing factors to the tragic incident.
