Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has declared assets worth Rs 1.64 crore, including a Delhi apartment and Ford EcoSport, after being sworn in for a record 10th term following NDA's landslide victory in the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar disclosed assets totaling Rs 1.64 crore in his latest financial declaration. The JD(U) leader was sworn in for an unprecedented 10th term as Chief Minister on Thursday following the NDA's overwhelming victory in recent assembly elections.

The swearing-in ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and numerous high-ranking NDA officials.

According to his financial statement, Kumar possesses movable assets worth approximately Rs 16.97 lakh. This includes Rs 21,052 in cash, bank deposits of around Rs 60,811, and additional movable assets, fixed deposits, and investments collectively amounting to Rs 16.97 lakh.

His immovable assets are valued at Rs 1.48 crore, which includes a residential apartment in a Dwarka, Delhi cooperative housing society. Kumar's total declared assets have remained relatively stable compared to his 2023 declaration of Rs 1.64 crore, showing minimal year-on-year growth.

The Chief Minister's personal possessions also include 13 cows, 10 calves, and a Ford EcoSport vehicle.

Under Kumar's administration, all cabinet ministers are required to submit annual disclosures of their assets and liabilities on the final day of each calendar year.

Among other ministers, Samrat Choudhary, who previously served as Kumar's deputy and took oath on Thursday, holds Rs 6.7 lakh in cash, while his wife Kumari Mamta possesses Rs 5.7 lakh. Choudhary owns a rifle valued at Rs 4 lakh and immovable property worth Rs 8.28 crore.

Vijay Kumar Sinha, another former Deputy Chief Minister who participated in the swearing-in ceremony, has immovable assets worth Rs 2.42 crore, with his wife owning assets valued at Rs 3.32 crore. Sinha possesses a revolver worth Rs 77,181.

In the 2025 Bihar Assembly Election, the BJP-led NDA secured 202 out of 243 seats. The BJP emerged as the largest party with 89 seats, while JD(U) made a remarkable comeback winning 85 seats—its strongest performance since 2010.

Other alliance partners also performed well: Chirag Paswan's LJP won 19 seats, HAM secured five, and the RLM claimed four.

The opposition Mahagathbandhan coalition, led by Tejashwi Yadav's RJD, experienced a significant defeat, winning only 35 seats. Within this alliance, the RJD secured 25 seats, Congress won six, and Left parties collectively managed just three seats. Prashant Kishor's newly established Jan Suraaj Party failed to win any seats.
