In New Delhi, amid Opposition's continuous allegations of vote manipulation, Nationalist Congress Party (SP) MP Supriya Sule emphasized the necessity to "clean up the system" if vulnerabilities exist.
"I see no reason why we can't engage in data-driven discussions. If there are gaps in the system, we need to address them," Ms Sule remarked during the NDTV Yuva event.
Her comments emerge following Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi's claims of "vote chori" (vote theft) and his promise to soon release what he characterized as a "hydrogen bomb" of evidence.
"If data is forthcoming, let's have a substantive debate about it," Ms Sule stated, referencing Mr Gandhi's alleged evidence of "vote chori". She added, "There are challenges present, and data speaks more powerfully than words."
"I have unwavering faith in both our democratic system and the citizens of this country. In a robust democracy, elections must be conducted properly, and when questions arise, they deserve transparent answers," Ms Sule explained to NDTV. "I'm completely confident that the Election Commission will provide appropriate clarification. I believe the current generation shares this perspective."
Previously, Mr Gandhi had declared that Congress possessed "open-and-shut proof" of systematic manipulation within the electoral process.
"We will reveal evidence comparable to a hydrogen bomb that will completely devastate current perceptions of reality. We have conclusive proof supporting our claims. I don't make statements without evidence—we have 100 percent certainty about various incidents that will soon come to light," Mr Gandhi asserted.
