New Delhi:
Intelligence sources revealed to NDTV on Wednesday that Pakistan-based terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed, linked to the Delhi Red Fort car bombing, is assembling a 'fidayeen' (suicide) squad for another attack against India and actively fundraising for this operation.
Investigation into the Red Fort explosion uncovered evidence suggesting Jaish leadership has initiated fundraising efforts through digital platforms, including a Pakistani application called SadaPay. Sources indicate they may also be planning an attack led by women operatives.
Jaish-e-Mohammed already operates a women's division headed by Masood Azhar's sister, Sadiya. This unit, known as Jamat ul-Muminat, was established after Operation Sindoor, India's military response to the Pahalgam attack, destroyed JeM facilities in Pakistan's Bahawalpur region.
Dr. Shahina Saeed, a key suspect in the Red Fort bombing who reportedly used the codename 'Madam Surgeon' and may have financed the attack, is believed to be affiliated with this women's unit.
According to intelligence sources, Jaish leadership is soliciting 'donations' with the message that anyone providing a winter kit for a 'mujahid' (fighter) will themselves be considered a 'jihadi.' Similarly, those who 'care for a jihadi after death' would receive the same designation.
The requested 'donation' amounts to approximately 20,000 Pakistani rupees (around INR 6,400) and would fund essential field equipment for terrorists, including footwear, woolen socks, mattresses, and tents—items necessary before or after executing attacks.
Intelligence sources indicate these fundraising efforts also aim to facilitate rapid money transfers to active terror cells, such as the 10-member 'terror doctor' group responsible for the Red Fort bombing. Authorities have launched a separate investigation into this digital financing network.
The November 10 explosion near the historic Red Fort killed fifteen people when a Hyundai i20 loaded with ammonium nitrate fuel oil and explosives detonated. Dr. Umar Mohammad, who perished in the blast, was identified as the driver. On Tuesday, an undated self-recorded video surfaced online showing Mohammad discussing how suicide bombing is 'misunderstood.'
Earlier this month, new intelligence obtained by NDTV indicated an alarming intensification of Pakistan-supported terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. Reports suggest major terrorist organizations, including Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba, are mobilizing for a coordinated series of attacks.
Both groups receive financial backing and support from Pakistan's military and intelligence establishments. They have made headlines in India over the past six months, each responsible for attacks resulting in civilian casualties.
As investigations into the Red Fort car bombing continue, intelligence sources detailed the differences between these terrorist organizations on Tuesday, including their operational methodologies, leadership structures, and indoctrination techniques.
