Gangster Anmol Bishnoi's Cousin Fears For His Safety, Dismisses Accusations

Anmol Bishnoi, identified as an accused in the firing incident at Salman Khan's residence, has been deported to India from the United States. He arrived on Wednesday after being detained abroad for nearly a year.

New Delhi authorities confirmed that Anmol, the younger sibling of Lawrence Bishnoi, faces charges in the murder case of NCP leader Baba Siddique and the shooting incident at Bollywood actor Salman Khan's home last year.

During an exclusive interview with NDTV, Anmol's cousin Ramesh Bishnoi expressed serious concerns about Anmol's safety in custody. "We appeal to the Indian government, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Union Home Minister Amit Shah to provide maximum security for Anmol. Our family fears for his wellbeing due to prison gang activities," he stated.

Ramesh emphasized that their family has consistently respected legal procedures and considers themselves law-abiding citizens.

Addressing the accusations against Anmol regarding Baba Siddiqui's murder and the shooting at Salman Khan's residence, Ramesh questioned the timeline: "Anmol has been detained in the United States for approximately one year. How could he issue such orders while not even present in India?"

When questioned about Lawrence Bishnoi's admission to ordering the shooting at Khan's residence and issuing death threats, Ramesh claimed, "We have no knowledge about these statements allegedly made by Lawrence."

The conflict between Salman Khan and the Bishnoi community traces back to 1998 when the actor and his "Hum Saath Saath Hai" co-stars were accused of hunting blackbucks near Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The Bishnoi community subsequently filed legal proceedings against Khan, Sonali Bendre, Neelam, Tabu, and Saif Ali Khan.

Ramesh confirmed that the community has not forgiven Salman Khan for the incident. "We would have granted forgiveness had he apologized," Ramesh noted, adding that "Salman violated our community's sentiments."

Regarding whether Anmol should face consequences for his alleged actions, Ramesh maintained, "I reaffirm our respect for the legal system. The judicial process must take its course. It's premature for me to comment on the investigation Anmol will undergo."

Ramesh also revealed that the family's last communication with Anmol occurred in 2021 when he received bail in a case. "Since then, we've had no contact with him. We've only learned about his situation through media reports," he concluded.
