Tragedy at Sabarimala: 58-Year-Old Woman Dies in Darshan Queue as Pilgrim Bus Overturns in Separate Incident

A 58-year-old woman tragically died while waiting for darshan at Sabarimala's Lord Ayyappa shrine, while in a separate incident, a bus carrying 33 Karnataka pilgrims overturned near Erumely with three sustaining minor injuries. Authorities have arranged for the deceased woman's transportation back to her hometown in Kozhikode district.

Woman, 58, Collapses And Dies In Sabarimala Temple Darshan Queue

A 58-year-old woman from Koyilandy in Kozhikode district tragically collapsed and died while waiting in the queue for darshan at the Lord Ayyappa shrine in Sabarimala on Tuesday, according to district administration sources.

K Jayakumar, the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) president, informed reporters that the woman's body would be transported back to her hometown in an ambulance, with expenses covered by the TDB.

In a separate incident related to Sabarimala pilgrimage, a bus carrying approximately 33 pilgrims, including children, from Karnataka overturned near Erumely in Kottayam district while en route to the temple. According to police, three passengers sustained minor injuries and were discharged after receiving treatment.

Police officials reported that the accident occurred when the driver attempted to overtake another vehicle from the right side while descending a slope, resulting in loss of control of the bus.
