Police reports indicate the three men were involved in an intoxicated altercation that turned violent.
Guna, Madhya Pradesh:
A 22-year-old man was allegedly killed by his maternal uncles following a heated political argument about Bihar election results in Madhya Pradesh's Guna district, according to police statements on Monday.
The fatal incident took place at an under-construction site within the police lines in the Cantt police station jurisdiction. Shankar Manjhi (22), a laborer from Bihar's Shivhar district, had been staying there with his maternal uncles Rajesh Manjhi (25) and Toofani Manjhi (27), as reported by a police official.
Police station in-charge Anoop Bhargava revealed that initial investigations showed Shankar supported the RJD political party, while the two accused were JD(U) supporters.
Bhargava stated that the three relatives engaged in an alcohol-fueled dispute that eventually escalated into physical violence.
According to authorities, Rajesh and Toofani allegedly dragged Shankar to a nearby muddy area where they pinned him down, causing his death.
Police transported Shankar to the district hospital where medical staff pronounced him dead upon arrival.
Bhargava confirmed that Rajesh and Toofani have been taken into custody. During questioning, both men reportedly confessed to the murder, and a formal case has been registered against them.
