Madhya Pradesh Minister Radha Singh's Controversial Phone Call Sparks Political Row

A viral video allegedly capturing Madhya Pradesh Minister Radha Singh using abusive language during a phone call has ignited controversy. While the Minister claims her remarks were a private conversation with her son taken out of context, the incident follows another controversy involving media representatives and has drawn sharp criticism from opposition Congress leaders who accuse BJP ministers of growing arrogance after gaining power.

Madhya Pradesh Minister's 'Abusive' Call Sparks Row, She Says 'Out Of Context'

A controversy erupted in Madhya Pradesh when a video surfaced allegedly capturing State Minister Radha Singh using abusive language during a phone call. The footage shows the Minister of State for Panchayat and Rural Development saying, "Jekha jekha moti chadhi hai hum okha kacharbo karb," roughly meaning, "Those whose arrogance has risen will be crushed."

The incident reportedly took place in Baidhan, where Singh had arrived to participate in Birsa Munda Jayanti celebrations. The controversial remark was recorded as she exited her vehicle while engaged in a phone conversation.

The video quickly gained traction across social media platforms, becoming the primary topic of discussion throughout the region.

This controversy emerged just one day after another incident involving the minister. During a visit by Minister-in-Charge Sampatiya Uikey, Singh allegedly had journalists removed from the venue when they attempted to ask questions, leading to significant protests from local media representatives.

Responding to the backlash, Singh rejected the accusations, explaining it was a private conversation with her son that had been misinterpreted. "I was angry with my son and speaking to him. It is being circulated with the wrong interpretation," the minister clarified.

Congress spokesperson KK Mishra criticized the situation, claiming BJP leaders and ministers had become "arrogant after grabbing power," and suggested this arrogance was causing them to "distort linguistic decorum and history." Mishra pointed to Singh and former minister Inder Singh Parmar as examples of this concerning pattern.

Several months earlier, Singh created another controversy during a Collectorate review meeting by declaring that departmental projects virtually inaugurated by the Chief Minister would not be considered officially inaugurated unless performed in person by the local MP or MLA. Her statement that "The inauguration ceremony will have to be rescheduled" drew criticism for apparently undermining the Chief Minister's authority.
