Pune:
Frustrated with persistent malfunctions in his newly acquired Mahindra Thar SUV, a man in Maharashtra's Pune district orchestrated an unusual demonstration against the vehicle's dealer by employing donkeys to pull the car to the showroom.
In circulating videos, two donkeys are observed harnessed to the SUV and drawing the vehicle, while two individuals play snare drums nearby. Several others are seen assisting the donkeys by pushing the car.
The vehicle owner, Ganesh Sangde, a Junnar resident in Pune, purchased the Thar SUV several months ago. From the outset, the vehicle experienced continuous issues, including water infiltration and loud engine noises.
Despite lodging multiple complaints with the dealer, the problems remained unaddressed, prompting this demonstration. Sangde decorated the car with large posters in Marathi criticizing the dealer while the donkeys hauled the vehicle to the Sahyadri Motors showroom in Pune's Wakad area.
In another instance of creative protest, residents of Maharashtra's Vasai marched to the Ward Committee office of the Vasai-Virar Municipal Corporation dressed as apparitions to demonstrate their discontent regarding the installation of recreational and exercise equipment in a Hindu cemetery.
Clothed in white sheets and ghostly makeup, the protestors ironically expressed gratitude to municipal officials for "attending to the ghosts" and presented them with flowers as a gesture of appreciation.
The demonstration occurred in response to the Vasai-Virar Municipal Corporation's decision to install swings, exercise bars, and other recreational facilities within the Benapatti Hindu cemetery.
Local residents were infuriated by this decision, questioning the logic behind transforming a cemetery into a recreational space.
