An intoxicated individual allegedly contacted the Mumbai police control room with a warning about a potential terrorist attack targeting the Naval Dockyard located in the southern region of the metropolis, according to an official statement on Sunday.

Subsequent investigation revealed that the morning call was determined to be a false alarm, the official further stated.

"The caller identified himself as being from Andhra Pradesh and claimed to have received information from an unnamed source. Authorities have identified the individual as Jahangir, who was accompanied by a friend when he placed the call while under the influence of alcohol," explained the official.

The process of filing a formal case is currently underway, though no arrests have been made at this time, the official confirmed.
