NDA's Historic Victory in Bihar: JD(U)'s Sanjay Jha Pledges Youth Development After Meeting Nitish Kumar

Following the National Democratic Alliance's landslide victory in Bihar's 2025 elections, JD(U) Working President Sanjay Jha met with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and affirmed their commitment to youth development, promising one crore jobs while accepting the mandate with humility. The NDA secured an unprecedented 202 of 243 assembly seats with record voter participation, especially among women.

Janata Dal (United) Working President Sanjay Kumar Jha met with Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar following the National Democratic Alliance's (NDA) overwhelming victory in the state elections. During his statement on Saturday, Jha emphasized that the alliance has received the mandate with "great humility."

Jha confirmed that the government is committed to implementing all promises outlined in their manifesto and dedicating the next five years to youth development across Bihar.

"We have been entrusted with a tremendous mandate. Both the NDA and JD(U) accept this responsibility with great humility. Our leadership and the entire alliance will fulfill every promise made in our manifesto. These upcoming five years are dedicated to the youth; we have committed to creating one crore jobs and employment opportunities," Jha stated.

The JD(U) Working President also revealed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has invited investors to establish industries in Bihar, describing this as a significant moment for the state's pride. Jha expressed confidence that Bihar would rank among India's top ten states within the next five years.

"The Prime Minister has called on investors to come to Bihar and establish industries here. This is the opportune moment. I believe this represents Bihar's chance for pride restoration. Over 20 years, Nitish Kumar built a foundation. One additional leap forward is required. That advancement will occur during these next five years. Bihar will emerge among the top 10 states," he added.

Meanwhile, celebratory banners reading "Tiger Abhi Zinda Hai" featuring Chief Minister Nitish Kumar were displayed outside the BJP office in Patna, commemorating the NDA's historic electoral performance.

The NDA secured a historic landslide victory in the 2025 Bihar elections, winning 202 of 243 assembly seats, while the opposition Mahagathbandhan managed only 35 seats. The alliance achieved a three-fourths majority in the assembly, marking the second time the NDA surpassed the 200-seat milestone in state elections. Their previous record was 206 seats in 2010.

Within the winning coalition, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured 89 seats, while Janata Dal (United) won 85 seats. Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) claimed 19 seats, Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) won five, and Rashtriya Lok Morcha secured four seats.

Among opposition parties, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) won 25 seats, the Indian National Congress secured six, Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) (Liberation) claimed two, while the Indian Inclusive Party and Communist Party of India (Marxist) each won one seat. All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) obtained five seats, and the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) secured one seat.

The Bihar assembly elections were conducted in two phases on November 6 and 11. The state recorded an unprecedented 67.13 percent voter turnout, the highest since 1951, with women voters (71.6 percent) participating at a higher rate than men (62.8 percent).
