Stalin's comments emerged as Tamil Nadu prepares for assembly elections scheduled for next year.
Chennai:
Following the National Democratic Alliance's (NDA) impressive victory in the Bihar assembly elections, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin extended congratulations to Janata Dal (United) (JD(U)) leader Nitish Kumar while criticizing the Election Commission of India (ECI).
Taking to X, Chief Minister Stalin stated that Bihar's election results did not erase what he described as the ECI's misconduct and irresponsible actions.
"#BiharElection2025: Lessons for everyone. I congratulate veteran leader Thiru. @NitishKumar for his decisive victory and wish him well in fulfilling the expectations of the people of #Bihar. I also appreciate young leader Thiru. @yadavtejashwi for his tireless campaign. Election..."
"The ECI's reputation has reached its lowest point. Our citizens deserve a stronger and more impartial Election Commission, whose conduct should inspire confidence even among those who don't emerge victorious," Stalin further remarked.
Stalin's Assessment of INDIA Bloc's Bihar Performance
With the INDIA bloc's defeat in Bihar, Stalin acknowledged Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav and other alliance partners for their dedicated campaign efforts.

"Election outcomes reflect welfare delivery, social and ideological coalitions, clear political messaging, and dedicated management until the final vote is counted. The INDIA bloc's leaders are experienced politicians capable of interpreting the message and strategically planning to address emerging challenges," the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister added.
SIR Controversy in Tamil Nadu
Stalin's observations come as Tamil Nadu prepares for upcoming assembly elections next year.
The governing Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) and its allies have expressed opposition to the Centre's Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in the state. Recently, the DMK approached the Supreme Court challenging the vote revision process.
Tamil Nadu Minister Govi Chezhian claimed that the alleged "vote theft conspiracy" highlighted by opposition parties regarding Bihar elections would not succeed in Tamil Nadu.
"All opposition parties and journalists attribute the Bihar elections victory to a vote theft conspiracy. We remain vigilant—the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister will prevent such theft in Tamil Nadu. The Bihar conspiracy won't be effective in Tamil Nadu, where voters are vigilant," Chezhian stated.

Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu Leader of Opposition (LoP) Edappadi Palaniswami supported the SIR initiative, questioning how conspiracy would be possible in such large-scale elections.
Palaniswami, a leader of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), observed that when the INDIA bloc experiences electoral setbacks, its leaders label the results as conspiracy.
However, he noted that if the opposition bloc wins, its leaders claim they won fairly. "SIR is essential for removing fake voters," he concluded.
