CCTV Footage Reveals Moment of Impact in Deadly Delhi Red Fort Explosion

New surveillance footage captures the terrifying moment a powerful explosion near Delhi's Red Fort impacted the nearby metro station, killing 13 people. The blast has been linked to Dr. Umar Mohammad, part of what security agencies describe as a "white-collar terror module" of medical professionals. The explosion occurred the same day authorities discovered 2,900 kg of explosives nearby in Faridabad.

Days after a powerful explosion near Delhi's Red Fort killed 13 people, newly surfaced CCTV footage has captured its impact inside the Red Fort Metro Station.

The one-minute clip reveals a man eating at a food counter and pedestrians walking through the metro station. Suddenly, a loud boom and violent tremors disrupt the scene, causing immediate panic. The intensity of the tremors demonstrated the explosion's powerful force. People frantically rushed to exit the area while a police officer directed them to safety.

A white Hyundai i20 car exploded near a traffic signal on the Netaji Subhash Marg near the Red Fort on Monday evening, resulting in 13 fatalities and nearly two dozen injuries. DNA test results on Thursday confirmed that Umar Mohammad, alias Umar Un Nabi, a doctor at Al-Falah University in Faridabad, was driving the vehicle that exploded. DNA samples from the blast site matched with Dr Umar's mother.

The explosion occurred on the same day authorities discovered 2,900 kg of explosives, including ammonium nitrate, just 50 km from the capital in neighboring Haryana's Faridabad. Sources indicate that Umar Mohammad apparently panicked and detonated the explosive near the Red Fort after investigators arrested two key members of the module - Dr Muzammil Shakeel and Dr Adil Rather - and confiscated the explosives.

According to top intelligence sources, Umar Mohammad seems to have incorrectly assembled the improvised explosive device (IED), resulting in its limited impact. A Forensic Science Laboratory official stated that in addition to ammonium nitrate, high-grade explosives were utilized in the blast.

The incident has uncovered what security agencies describe as a "white-collar terror module" comprising several medical professionals trained in Jammu and Kashmir.
